A few housekeeping and practical points:
1. Presenters are kindly asked to upload their presentations on the laptops in the room they are presenting. Please do not use your own laptops for the presentations.
2. We have a very tight schedule thus it is crucial that sessions do not overrun. The allocated time for each paper is 30 minutes (20 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for the discussion). There will be plenty of time for bilateral discussions following the presentation sessions.
3. The 28th October (OXI day) is a public holiday. This means public buses will be running on a Sunday schedule, there will be a parade between around 11.00 am and 13.00 pm in town – making circulation by car in the city center difficult or impossible, banks and shops will be closed.
4. On Saturday 29th October, public buses will be running a Sunday schedule again. Saturday 29th October is not a holiday; shops will be open.
5. We have arranged for some conference dedicated transportation as follows:
- Evening of Thursday 27th October: a couple of buses – run by IAKOVOS TRAVEL – will be departing at 19:15 from the Parking lot at the University Campus entrance for the Paleontological Museum for the Welcome Reception. For those who will join us directly at the Paleontological Museum please see information for location etc under the Social Events tab of the Conference site. As we will be outdoors for the Reception and in the evening it can get a little chilly, you are advised to dress accordingly.
- Morning of Friday 28th October: a couple of buses – run by IAKOVOS TRAVEL – will be departing from the Rethymno Marina for the University campus at 08:45 am. The buses will also make one stop en route to the University at the Four Martyrs Bus Stop – diagonally opposite the Rethymno Municipal Gardens.

See the Social Events tab of the Conference site for more information. The same buses will return us to Rethymno Marina after the dinner.
6. Tickets for public buses from Rethymno town to the University cost EUR 1.20 for a single trip. If you plan to use the bus you are advised to buy tickets either at the kiosk at the University campus – which will be open only on Thursday – or in kiosks/super markets in town. It is not always possible to purchase a ticket on the bus.
7. Taxis are easy to find; there are a number of taxi ranks in town (near the Four Martyrs Square, at the Municipal Gardens, Agnostou Stratioti Square- close to the Marina). It costs usually less than 10 EUR to get from the city center to the University Campus.
